Defence & Security

Consultancy and training across the counter-threat continuum — doctrine, hybrid-threat assessment, and tactical delivery, drawn directly from operator experience.

// 01.A — BRIEF

Brief.

ERM operates across the full counter-threat continuum, from strategic policy advisory to tactical training delivery. Our subject matter experts bring direct operational backgrounds in counter-IED, special operations, defence intelligence, and specialist policing — applied to the organisations that carry actual threat-management responsibility.

The contemporary threat environment is hybrid by default. State and non-state actors blend conventional, irregular, and information-domain methods to exploit organisational seams. Our work helps defence and security organisations close those seams — through doctrine that reflects real adversary behaviour, threat assessments grounded in operational intelligence, and training that prepares forces for the threat they will actually face.

We operate in classified or unclassified contexts as required, and structure engagements around the client’s existing command and capability architecture rather than displacing it. Our role is to multiply force capability — not to substitute for it.

// 01.B — APPROACH

Approach.

  1. 01

    Discovery

Engagements begin with a confidential exchange to establish client mission, force capability, threat environment, and constraints — calibrated to the level of access and clearance available.

  2. 02

    Threat Profiling

We build the current adversary picture: actors, capability, intent, and indicators. Asset criticality is mapped against threat exposure to define the engagement’s real centre of gravity.

  3. 03

    Design

Doctrine, syllabus, training package, advisory output — designed to be implementable inside the client’s command architecture and proportional to their resources.

  4. 04

    Delivery & Assurance

Implementation in the client environment, with validation against agreed measures of effect. Engagements close with handover and sustainment plans.

Capability detail.

A

Counter-IED Doctrine

IED networks adapt faster than the doctrine written to defeat them. ERM supports clients in keeping doctrine current — through threat-network analysis, TTP development, and doctrine review and authoring grounded in operator experience. Our consultants have served against IED networks in active theatre, and bring that perspective to writing the doctrine that prepares the next force.

Deliverables

  • Threat-network assessment
  • Doctrine review & authoring
  • TTP development & validation
  • Briefing & advisory papers

Output

Operational doctrine, instructional packages, and threat assessments fit for the client’s command architecture.

B

Hybrid-Threat Assessment

Hybrid threat actors blend conventional military action with irregular tactics, criminal proxies, and information-domain operations. Defending high-value sites and personnel against this composite threat requires assessment frameworks that span domains. ERM provides adversary modelling, site-specific threat profiles, and red-team scenario design grounded in current adversary capability.

Deliverables

  • Adversary capability modelling
  • Site-specific threat profile
  • Red-team scenario design
  • Mitigation prioritisation

Output

A threat profile and prioritised mitigation roadmap that translates intelligence into operational protective measures.

C

Tactical Training Delivery

Training that lands changes behaviour. ERM delivers hands-on training packages calibrated to force capability and threat environment — from short-form briefings through to multi-week instructor-led programmes. Our delivery model favours the instructor-mentor approach: building internal capability that endures past the engagement.

Deliverables

  • Force-specific syllabus
  • Live and dry-rehearsal delivery
  • Instructor-mentor programmes
  • Post-delivery validation

Output

Forces trained to operate against the threat profile they face, with documented competence and instructor-mentor handover where appropriate.
